Are you newer to Salem Heights and want to know more about our core beliefs as a church? We'd love for you to come to our Fundamentals of the Faith class. This is taught by our pastors and elders and is a great starting point of meeting other newcomers, joining in great discussion, and learning more about what it's like to be a part of the body at SHC.
Equipped to Counsel registration is now open! ETC is ideal for ministry staff, lay leaders, small group leaders, and any believer seeking to grow in their ability to care for one another as the body of Christ. This 8-month course equips participants to apply the gospel deeply and effectively to the hearts and struggles of others. It establishes a strong theological foundation for biblical counseling and provides practical application. For more information or to apply, please visit https://shccounseling.org/training.
If you are walking through cancer, the Cancer Care Ministry would like to support you! Although each person has different needs, we can offer support in many ways. Ideas of how we can come alongside you may include: personal encouragement and prayer support, rides to appointments, errands, meals, housework, lawn care, respite breaks for caregivers, childcare, and help with administrative needs like taxes and estate planning. We also offer Oasis Cancer Care Support Groups beginning in February. These groups will meet every 1st and 3rd weeks of the month, on Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 and Friday mornings from 10:30-12:00pm. These support groups are an opportunity for those who are going through cancer to join together in a safe space, offering understanding, support, encouragement and prayer to one another.
OUR PURPOSE: The Cause seeks for students to know Him and make Him known! Philippians 3:8
This happens through a discipleship team, or "D-Team", we provide opportunities for students in similar grades to grow in their walk with Jesus alongside adult leaders (1 Cor. 11:1). D-Team's aim to create relationships where God’s Word can speak to the real issues students encounter. The students are continually challenged to be in God's Word and engage in the local church.
We have an opportunity to partner with our neighbors and local schools to help families in need who can benefit from a Thanksgiving meal. We are looking for volunteers to shop for a complete Thanksgiving meal and to deliver it (uncooked) to a family in need between November 23rd through 26th. If this is something you can help with, please fill out this registration and we will contact you with more information. If you are unable to deliver a meal, but are able to donate towards buying of a meal, please sign up and let us know!
If you are in need of a meal please fill out the form. Filling out this registration isn't a guarantee that you'll receive a food box, but we hope to fill the needs as they come. We will contact you if we are able to provide a food box for you. Thank you!
This Halloween will be a great night for our MS Cause students! The evening will start with volunteering at Trunk or Treat. Then the Scare Games really begin! Students will compete in teams all across our church's campus. They will try to prove they are the best while avoiding spooky obstacles along the way.
We are in search of enthusiastic volunteers to make this a fun and welcoming event! We would love help with:
Our family-friendly Trunk or Treat is coming up on Friday, October 31 from 4:30-6:30pm!
At this event, kiddos and their families are invited to walk through our parking lot, going from car to car, to collect candy from trunks decked out with festive decor. Join us in blessing our SHC families and community with this opportunity to safely receive treats and experience Christ's love through joining us in fellowship!
We will be holding a special Child Dedication service during our Sunday morning services on November 16th. This is an opportunity to introduce your child to the church family and agree to raise them in the Lord. Please plan to attend the mandatory prep class at SHC on Wednesday, Nov 12 at 7 PM.
Join us for the Made to Minister Conference! Select from a variety of breakout sessions and optional preconference. Find descriptions and more information at shccounseling.org/conference.
Oikos Growth Groups promote community and make large church feel small by bringing people together weekly to apply biblical truths from Sunday sermons. These informal, small group settings provide the ideal environment for building relationships with other believers who want to be challenged in their faith and grow in friendship and unity.
